In the first half of the 20th Century, the ground floor apartment on the right side of the gate on Kozi street was home to a private language teacher, M.
I have re-worded the article that was printed in the newspapers at the time.
For a longer period of time, a person of a distinctive appearance had been observed in the city, who aroused the attention of people by their attire, wearing clothes that were coded ‘male’. People who met them believed they saw a man in front of them. M had distinctive features, piercing eyes and a wide gate. They used to stroll confidently around Prague and its parks and suburbs. They lived with a woman called Milada for 15 months before her father found her and demanded that they be arrested. When Milada was taken into custody, M demonstrated their courage by going to Prague Castle to request an audience with the President. The request was denied and they were both arrested in the autumn of 1921.
During the search of M’s house, many boxes were found with dried flowers, ribbons and an urn with the ashes of their late girlfriend Ruzena., placed on the top of the wardrobe. M called the urn their most precious property.
